Uses
Tile fixing mortars, concrete repair mortars, floor screeds, wall plaster thin layer patching mortars, new and old concrete bonding agent & etc.
Surface Preparation
Substrate: All the substrate surfaces must be clean, free from grease, oil, laitance, and remove all the dirt and contaminants, which might affect adhesion. The impurities outside the structure body should be cleaned thoroughly. It is recommended to give substrate a rough or light-broom finish for better bonding strength.
Insulation board: Insulation board must be well protected, clean, dry, and free of all bond-inhibiting materials and rasped if necessary before installation.
Application
As a base coat: Apply with spray equipment or apply manually with a stainless steel trowel to an approximate thickness 3mm onto the insulation board. Work horizontally or vertically in strips of 1m and immediately embed fibreglass reinforcing mesh in the wet Obaproof Latex 1108 by troweling from the centre to the edges of the mesh. Each strip of mesh should overlap a minimum of 100mm.
For slurry coating: add Obaproof Latex 1108 & mix with fresh cement to a creamy consistency. Brush well onto the prepared surface
For high-performance waterproofing render ratio: 8 liters of Obaproof Latex 1108, 50kg of cement, 150kg of sand, 20kg of water
• Avoid wrinkles in the mesh and smooth the base coat to eliminate trowel marks.
• Minimum recommended thickness of the reinforced base coat is 1.5mm when dry.
• Reapply an additional base coat to completely cover the mesh as soon as the first coat is dry.
Coverage
Cement: 50 KG, Sand: 150 KG, Obaproof Latex 1108: 4 Litre, Water: 20 KG
Mixing
Obaproof Latex 1108 should be mixed thoroughly with normal Portland cement or white cement by using a low speed electrical or pneumatic power stirrer. Mixing time is minimum 3-4minutes until a homogeneous mix is achieved
Mixing Ratio (by weight): Obaproof Latex 1108: 1
Cement: 1
Adjust the mix if necessary by adding a small amount of clean water to achieve the desire textured finish. Avoid re-tempering after mixing of product.
Note
• Do not apply directly over wood surfaces.
• Do not apply on weather-exposed horizontal areas or where water immersion may occur.
• Minimum ambient and substrate temperature is 5C during application and drying period.
• Do not apply it as a finish coating.
Cleaning of Tools
Remove unhardened Obaproof Latex 1108 products from tools and equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.

Safety
Obaproof Latex 1108 contains cement and is alkaline. Suitable precautions should be taken to minimise direct contact with skin.
Applicators are recommended to wear rubber gloves and goggles when using the material, If the material gets into the eyes, flush immediately with clean water and seek medical attention if irritation persists.
