Application Area
Obaproof Bond ABC-505 can be used for interior & exterior. Concrete structures, renders and all cementitious products. To new and old cement plastered surfaces. To cemboard, wood, metal, ceramic / porcelain tiles, concrete, brick and marble surfaces. Tile to tile; marble to marble or granite, etc.
Application Tools
Obaproof Bond ABC-505 can be applied with paint roller, paint brush or spraying.
Pot Life / Shelf life
Pot Life: 3 Days
Shelf life: 12 months
Storage
Store in protected areas where ambient temperature is between 50°F – 90°F (10°C – 37°C).
Surface Preparation
The surface must be structurally sound and clean, free of oil, grease, wax, dust, sand, dirt, laitance, paints, efflorescence, curing compounds and loose materials of any type. If the surface is questionable, apply a small test patch of Obaproof Bond ABC-505. Allow to completely dry and observe for any signs of lifting, wrinkling, peeling or curling. If these occur, additional surface preparation is recommended.
Application
• Open the original packing and use it as it is, do not dilute with water or solvent. Do not add any admixture.
• Do not use water soluble materials such as glue, calcimine, wallpaper, casein-based adhesive or where constant moisture is present.
• Never shake and box mix as it entraps air bubbles.
• Apply Obaproof Bond ABC-505 to the treated surfaces evenly. Thin continuous unbroken film is recommended.
• Allow Obaproof Bond ABC-505 to dry for approximately 30 minutes before proceeding with subsequent activities (eg. plastering or tiling). Subsequent application of plastering, skim coating and cement mortar for tiling shall be performed within 72 hours, provided that the Obaproof Bond ABC-505 condition is clean, dust-free, uncontaminated and intact.
• Do not apply to wet surfaces or surfaces where there may be hydrostatic pressure such as retaining walls and swimming pools.
• Do not apply to frozen or frost covered surfaces or when temperature is below 50°f (10°c) is expected to be within 12 hours.
Curing Time
Drying Time
Approximately 30 minutes after applied; depending on the temperature and humidity (18°C – 45°C).
Coverage
Approximately 18m²- 20m²/litre depending on the method of application, temperatures, porosity and texture of the substrate/surface.
Cleaning of Tools
Recommended cleaning methods are by using high-pressure water jets.
