Surface Preparation

• All surfaces must be dry, clean, free from dust, grease, and efflorescence.
• Repair chip-off or concrete surfaces and make sure the surface is free of water.

Application

Obaproof Slate-Seal 800 can be applied by brush, roller and airless spray. For optimum results, airless spray is recommended. When applied by airless spray, the saturated point has to be achieved. After curing, a transparent thin film is produced on the substrate. If the application has not been made uniformly, one more coat is necessary. For normal application 2 coats are sufficient. However, 3 coats may be required for a heavy-duty driveway. Do not apply Obaproof Slate-Seal 800 on non-absorbent surfaces like glass, wood, plastic and metallic substrates.

Curing Time

Drying time
• Touch dry: 45 min.
• Top coat: 2 hours

Coverage

7m²/litre

Note

• Obaproof Slate-Seal 800 cannot be applied to wet and damp surfaces and in contact with water.
• Minimum ambient and substrate temperature is 5°C – 45°C.
• Apply only to clean and sound substrates which should be free from water and leakages.

Cleaning of Tools

• If the thin film has occurred on non-absorbent surfaces mentioned above, immediately remove it by using thinner, cleaner or ethanol.
• Tools and equipment can be easily cleaned with thinner immediately after use.

• Density (CNS 6986, CNS 6988): 0.90kg/Ltr
• Thickness: 0.05mm DFT
• Theoretical Coverage: 0.15kg/m²
• Drying Time: Touch dry-45 mins
: Top coat-2 hours
• Chemical Resistance (10% HCOOH, 60°C, 24 hrs): No changes on the surface of the sample.

Safety

Impervious gloves, barrier cream and eye protection should be used when handling these products. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice if symptoms persist. If contact with skin occurs, it must be removed before curing takes place. Wash off with an industrial skin cleanser followed by plenty of soap and water. Do not use solvent. Ensure adequate ventilation when using these products.
