Storage
Uses
Damp-proof courses, suspended floors, terraces and balconies, corrosion protection to the metal surface, bathrooms, RC gutters and planter boxes, linings to tanks and pipes, below ground concrete protection, basements and fountains, and retaining walls.
Surface Preparation
• All the surfaces must be clean, free from grease, oil, laitance, and remove all dirt and contaminants, which might affect adhesion.
• The impurity outside the structure body should be cleaned thoroughly.
• For some difficult areas, such as the position of cracks, secondary joint, right angle of wall and the boundary of the water jacket shall be strengthened first with one layer of Obaproof Bituflex-1001.
Application
• With 3 portions of clean water to dilute with permeable primer or 1 portion of Obaproof Bituflex-1001 with 3 portions of clean water and then plaster directly to the surface to be waterproofed, in order to improve the bonding.
• With a brush, roller or spray method apply the first coat of Obaproof Bituflex-1001 on the application surface. Leave to cure for approximately 8 hours before applying a second coat.
Curing Time
For optimum performance, Obaproof Bituflex-1001 should be allowed to cure for 8 hours before the finishing concrete, tiles etc. During this time, precautions must be taken in order to prevent damage to the coating.
Coverage
Waterproofing roof, bathrooms and kitchen: 0.5kg/m² per coat.
Waterproofing planter boxes, balconies, swimming pool and basements: 0.8kg/m² per coat.
Overcoating
After primer, Obaproof Bituflex-1001 can be applied directly to the exposed areas (outdoor area) that is dry. For indoor areas, it is recommended to allow approximately 30 minutes wait time after the primer. For more details, please refer to our Technical Department.
Mixing
Generally is not required but for smoother application, not more than 1kg of clean water can be added into 20kg of Obaproof Bituflex-1001.
Note
1. Obaproof Bituflex-1001 should be applied in minimum 2 coats.
2. Primer is required in areas of extremely high infiltration for better bonding.
Important notes:
1. Minimum ambient and substrate temperature is 5°C.
2. Never apply more than 2 kg/m² of Obaproof Bituflex-1001 in one single layer.
3. Apply only to clean, sound substrates where surfaces should be well dampened but free of surface water and leaks.
Cleaning of Tools
Tools and equipment can be clean with clean water immediately after use.

Safety
Impervious gloves and barrier cream should be used when handing these products Eye protection should be worn. In case of contact with eyes, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical advice if symptoms persist. If contact with skin occurs, it must be removed before curing takes place. Wash off with an industrial skin cleaner followed by plenty of soap and water. Do not use solvent.
Ensure adequate ventilation when using these products.
